Plot In the modern day, Abstergo Entertainment, a subsidiary of Abstergo which is in charge of producing multimedia goods, releases their first major product,  Liberation  - a video game about the life of the Assassin  Aveline de Grandpré . The player is contacted by the hacker group Erudito while playing the game, and learns that a heavy amount of censoring was done in regard to the Assassin- Templar  war. The group offer to help the player uncensor these elements in the game during their playthrough. The player begins experiencing the life of Aveline in 1765, as she operates within the city of  New Orleans  from her family mansion, which she lives in alongside her stepmother, Madeleine de L'Isle. As the city undergoes a transition of control from  France  to  Spain  near the end of the  French and Indian War , Aveline discovers a Templar plot to control Louisiana during the transitional period being conducted by the Templar Rafael Joaquín de Ferrer. Plot Some time after the end of the Revolutionary War, Washington secretly meets with Connor, telling him of disturbing dreams he has received from an Apple of Eden he had seized at Yorktown. Concerned, Connor attempts to take the Apple from Washington but is engulfed by a bright light upon touching it. Waking up, Connor finds himself in an alternate timeline created by Washington's nightmares where his mother Ziio is still alive and Washington has gone mad with power and become the "Mad King" of the United States. Angered at Ziio's attempt to steal his Scepter, Washington mobilizes his army to destroy Connor and Ziio's tribe. In desperation, the tribe's Clan Mother decides to brew the Tea of the Great Willow, a substance capable of granting great physical abilities with crippling side effects. Ziio is furious at this decision and forbids Connor from drinking the tea, instead giving him Haytham's Hidden Blade. Washington then attacks, slaughtering the trib

Plot Immediately after the events of  the previous game , Desmond Miles, along with his father William, and allies Rebecca Crane and Shaun Hastings, find the Grand Temple of the First Civilization in a cave in  New York state  and access it using their Apple of Eden, an ancient artifact of immense power. After partially activating the temple, Juno uses it to communicate with Desmond. Desmond is placed in the Animus where Juno's influence causes him to experience the life of his ancestor Haytham Kenway in England, 1754. Haytham assassinates a patron at the  Royal Opera House  and steals a medallion; the Key to the Temple's inner chamber. Haytham is dispatched to the  American Colonies  to locate the Temple. While in Boston, he kills a slave trader, freeing a group of Mohawks including a woman named Kaniehti:io, who asks Haytham to refer to her as Ziio after he proves unable to pronounce her full name. She helps Haytham find the Temple in exchange for him killing  General Braddoc

Plot The  Freedom Cry   downloadable content  is set twenty years after the events of  Black Flag  and follows  Adéwalé , Edward's former quartermaster, in his mission as an Assassin. While attempting to intercept Templar activities in the West Indies Sea, Adéwalé is shipwrecked off the coast of  Haiti . Making his way into  Port-au-Prince , he establishes that the Templars are working with Bastienne Josèphe, the proprietor of a local brothel and a sympathizer to the  Maroons , a faction of freedom fighters made up of liberated slaves led by Augustin Dieufort. Despite his obligations to the Brotherhood of Assassins, Adéwalé becomes sympathetic to their cause and joins the Maroons in hijacking a vessel,  Experto Crede , in order to interrupt the slave trade. Plot Samples that were taken from Desmond Miles' body in the moments after  his death  have allowed Abstergo Industries to continue exploring his genetic memories using the Animus' newfound cloud computing abilities. The unnamed player character is hired by Abstergo Entertainment, from their  Montréal  headquarters, to sift through the memories of Edward Kenway, an eighteenth-century pirate, the father of  Haytham Kenway  and the grandfather of  Ratonhnhaké:ton . Ostensibly, this is to gather material for an Animus-powered interactive feature film. In reality, Abstergo—the  Templars  of the present time—are searching for a First Civilization structure known as the Observatory, and are using Edward's memories to find it. Plot Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China China  takes place after the short film  Assassin's Creed: Embers . [5]  The game takes place in 1526 China and focuses on the female protagonist,  Shao Jun . After being trained by legendary Italian assassin  Ezio Auditore da Firenze , Shao Jun returns to her homeland to exact vengeance against the Templar group  Eight Tigers , who wiped out the Chinese brotherhood. Shao Jun's quest takes her through  Macau ,  Nan'an , the  Forbidden City  and the  Great Wall , as she kills the Tigers one by one and finally assassinates the final target, Zhang Yong. Years later, Shao Jun, who becomes an Assassin Mentor and has rebuilt the brotherhood, plots the assassination of  Jiajing Emperor  by sending him an elixir of life, which is actually lethal mercury. Plot Following  the ending of  Brotherhood , present-day protagonist Desmond Miles has fallen into a  coma  due to the combined stress of being forced to kill  Lucy Stillman  and being controlled by  Juno , the  hologram  attached to the Apple of Eden. While Shaun Hastings stays behind in Rome to attend Lucy's funeral, Rebecca Crane takes Desmond to  New York City  and meets with his father, William Miles. In an effort to save Desmond's mind, the duo places him back in the Animus, though this time in the machine's safe mode, known as the "Black Room". Upon awakening on Animus Island, the original Animus testing program located within the Black Room, Desmond meets the preserved consciousness of  Clay Kaczmarek  (Subject 16), who occupied Abstergo's Animus before him. Plot Desmond's story continues where it left off, in 2012. After escaping the  Templars ' attack at the end of  Assassin's Creed II , Desmond Miles,  Lucy Stillman , Rebecca Crane, and Shaun Hastings flee to Monteriggioni, establishing a new hideout in the ruins of the  Villa Auditore . After restoring the electricity in the old tunnels under the villa, the player once again takes control of Ezio Auditore through Desmond's  genetic memory , using the Animus 2.0 (which is the game's memory interface). Their mission is to find the Apple of Eden, an important and mysterious artifact that could prevent the  impending disaster  that is coming in that same year, believed to be perpetrated by the Templars. Ezio's story continues in 1499, where he exits the Vault, confused by what he saw inside. He escapes Rome with his uncle, Mario Auditore, and returns to Monteriggioni.   Plot In 2012, bartender  Desmond Miles  is kidnapped by agents of Abstergo Industries, the world's largest pharmaceutical conglomerate, and is taken to the headquarters in  Rome , Italy. Under the guidance of  Dr. Warren Vidic  and his assistant  Lucy Stillman , Desmond is forced to participate in a series of trials revolving around the "Animus", a machine capable of translating the  genetic memories  of his ancestors into a simulated reality. Vidic instructs him to relive the early years of  Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad , a senior member of the Assassin Brotherhood during the time of the  Third Crusade . His investigation reveals that Altaïr, blinded by arrogance, botched an attempt by the Assassins to retrieve an artifact, the Piece of Eden, from the forces of  Robert de Sablé , Grand Master of the Knights Templar, leading to the death of one Assassin, and severely wounding another in the process.
