Game Storyline

Plot The game is set in Raccoon City in September 1998, two months after the events of  Resident Evil . Most of the citizens have been turned into mindless zombies, due to an outbreak of a viral  bioweapon  known as the  T-Virus , manufactured by  Umbrella Corporation . The game begins at a  gas station  outside of the city, where rookie police officer  Leon S. Kennedy  (Nick Apostolides) meets college student  Claire Redfield  (Stephanie Panisello), who is looking for her brother  Chris . After being separated following a car accident, Leon and Claire agree to meet up at the city's police department. The building is infested by zombies, and other monsters, including the " Tyrant ", who is dispatched to hunt down and kill any survivors. Plot On September 28, 1998, 24 hours prior to the events of  Resident Evil 2 , former Special Tactics And Rescue Service (S.T.A.R.S.) member Jill Valentine attempts to escape from Raccoon City. Most of the population has been transformed into zombies by an outbreak of the T-virus, a new type of  biological weapon  secretly developed by the pharmaceutical company Umbrella. On her way to the Raccoon City Police Department, Jill runs into fellow team member  Brad Vickers , who is killed by a new enemy. This creature, Nemesis, is a bio-organic weapon programmed to target surviving S.T.A.R.S. members, witnesses of Umbrella's experiments. As she evades Nemesis, Jill encounters three surviving members of the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (U.B.C.S.):  Carlos Oliveira ,  Mikhail Victor , and  Nikolai Zinoviev . Plot In June 2017, Ethan Winters is drawn to a derelict  plantation  in Dulvey,  Louisiana , by a message from his wife, Mia, who has been presumed dead since going missing in 2014. He finds Mia imprisoned in the basement of a seemingly abandoned house, and frees her. She tries to lead them out, but suddenly becomes violent and attacks him, forcing him to retaliate and presumably kill her. After receiving a call from a woman named Zoe offering assistance, Ethan is attacked by a revived Mia, who cuts his left hand off with a chainsaw. A brief battle ensues before Ethan apparently finally kills Mia in self-defense, at which point Jack, the patriarch of the Baker family, appears and captures Ethan. After Zoe reattaches his hand, Ethan is held captive by Jack, his wife Marguerite, and their son Lucas, along with a seemingly catatonic elderly woman in a wheelchair. Plot On July 24, 1998, when a series of bizarre murders occur on the outskirts of the fictional  Midwestern  town of Raccoon City, the Raccoon City Police Department's  S.T.A.R.S.  team are assigned to investigate. After contact with Bravo Team is lost, Alpha Team is sent to investigate their disappearance. Alpha Team locates Bravo Team's crashed helicopter and land at the site, where they are suddenly attacked by a pack of monstrous dogs, killing team member Joseph Frost. After Alpha Team's helicopter pilot,  Brad Vickers , panics and takes off alone, the remaining members of the team (Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine,  Albert Wesker , and  Barry Burton ) are forced to seek refuge in a nearby abandoned mansion. Depending on which character the player assumes control of, either Chris or Barry are separated from the rest of the team during the chase and do not make it to the mansion. Plot Ryse: Son of Rome  is set in an  alternate version  of  Rome . The game's tutorial section depicts Marius (voiced by  John Hopkins ) leading the defense of  Rome  against oncoming  Celtic   barbarians  led by  Boudica  ( Rachel McDowall ). Marius hands a small, nondescript sack to a subordinate with the instructions to display it from an elevated position, then helps secure the Roman emperor,  Nero  (Sebastian Abineri), in a private  safe room . At the emperor's behest he begins to tell his story; the rest of the game is an extended  flashback  depicting Marius' story up to this point. Marius begins his story as a  soldier  having just successfully completed his training, who is about to leave Rome to serve his duty in the relatively sedate II Legion, holding a post in peaceful  Alexandria . Plot Many years after Kratos' defeat of the  Olympian gods , he now lives with his son Atreus in ancient Norway in the realm of Midgard. After cremating the body of his wife, Faye, Kratos is confronted by a mysterious man with godlike powers. The two battle and after seemingly killing him, Kratos and Atreus begin their journey to honor Faye's last wish and scatter her ashes at the highest peak of the nine realms. Reaching the Lake of the Nine, the pair encounters the friendly World Serpent,  Jörmungandr , the last remaining giant. After running into impenetrable black mist, the Witch of the Woods aids them, instructing them to use the Bifröst to travel to Alfheim and secure its Light to extinguish the mist. Successful, they reach Midgard's peak and overhear a conversation between the mysterious man—revealed to be Baldur—Modi, Magni, and the imprisoned Mímir. Plot Kratos, Gaia, and the other Titans ascend Mount Olympus to destroy the Olympian gods. Poseidon launches an assault against them, but is killed by Kratos and Gaia; with his death causing the oceans to flood Greece. Reaching Olympus' peak, they try to attack Zeus, but he drives them back and knocks them off the mountain. As Gaia clings to the mountainside, she refuses to save Kratos, calling him a pawn for the Titans' revenge. Kratos falls into the River Styx, where he loses the Blade of Olympus before the souls of the Underworld weaken him and ruin the Blades of Athena. Climbing from the river, he is greeted by Athena's spirit, who was brought to a higher existence after she sacrificed herself to save Zeus from Kratos.
